Who are we?
Aussie Grown Radio (AGR) is a faith-based organisation with a heart and mission for service and support to the Australian* Christian music industry specifically to the bands and artists creating the music.
*We also include NZ artists in our playlist as they are administered through APRA AMCOS
What do we do for our artists?
Most of you would know the ‘voice’ of AGR, Hank David. He spends hours working on all that is AGR. A major part of his roll is producing our 1 hour radio show, Aussie Grown Across The Nation (AGATN).
AGATN is played on 23 stations nationally. It is also made available through the Southern Community Media Association (SCMA) through their member network of over 100 Community stations within Australia. Unfortunately, they don’t provide us with any statistics on who downloads the show, so there could be more stations playing our show through this network. However, the most exciting thing is that your songs are not just heard in Australia but also by international audiences through 3 online Christian Media/Radio outlets in the US!
Another major role for Hank is reviewing new song releases. Hank reviews all new music to determine if it is ‘radio ready’ and if so, it is catalogued into our New Music Schedule to be aired in our New Music segment on AGATN.
After appearing as New Music your single goes into our music schedule rotation. A ‘good’ song will get more plays and a ‘not-so-good’ song will be rested more. Our assessment of each song (good vs not-so-good) is based on the quality of the song – lyrics, style/genre as well as the recording, mixing and mastering. Each song is evaluated individually.
During the week of premiere as New Music, the single is added to the ‘AGR Artists New Music’ Spotify playlist. This playlist has some 90+ songs, running over 5.5 hours, and your song will stay on there for a minimum of 12+ weeks. Find it here.
Other things that we do to support artists is in networking on Facebook and other social media outlets and through our aussiegrownradio.com website where we:

- update our Home Page weekly with pictures and information about some artists playing on the show that week.
- list artists in an alphabetical Artist Directory with personal pages sharing a short bio and music journey / mission and album and single releases.
- maintain a list of upcoming artist gigs in our national Gig Guide.
Hank also regularly encourages artists to sign up to AMRAP. It is free and is the best way for Aussie artists to make their music available to over 475 Community Radio Stations plus producers and programmers (like AGR) throughout Australia.
A lot of the website updates are done by Nellie who gives generously of her time to complete weekly tasks. She also diligently sends the show each week to our host stations and helps with communication matters, administration and radio servicing, etc.
As you can imagine, all of these things require a lot of time and energy, but it is something we do as we have a passion for our artists. We have a strong desire to see artists and their music out there for all to hear. The most important thing is that we do all this for our artists free of charge!
What else do we offer?
Getting your music ‘out there’ can be a difficult task. One of the ways AGR can help you achieve this is through affordable radio servicing packages for your singles.
Receiving radio airplay for your music is an important step for any musician hoping to get their break in the business or just being able to share the message of their latest song. So how do you go about getting your music to the ‘masses’, so to speak?
Having it played on AGATN is one thing, but AGR can assist you in getting your music to Christian and various Community radio stations across Australia plus selected stations overseas including New Zealand, the UK and the USA.
We offer a competitive radio servicing package aimed at the grass roots level of Aussie Christian music. Our prices are affordable and there is no lock-in contract, simply an agreement to provide a professional promotional package for radio servicing to a selection of radio stations. We have a scaled fee structure which is based on the level of service we will provide.
We can never guarantee airplay, but we can guarantee to get your music to the inbox of the Music Directors / Content Directors of all the Christian radio stations in Australia & beyond in a professional and cost-effective format.

Another thing that we offer is a way to sow into AGR through the Artist Pledge Partner programme.
So why sow into AGR?
The Artist Pledge Partner programme is a voluntary option for artists to sow into the AGR ministry. It is not necessary for you to become a Pledge Partner for AGR to play your music or service your singles. We ask that you pray about all that AGR does for you as an artist within the Christian music industry in Australia and New Zealand. Please consider the amount of time and commitment that is given, free of charge. If God prompts you to make a pledge to financially support AGR in their mission, then here is a brochure with details.
